Terrace Center of Excellence (Terrace)
The High Voltage Electrical Safety Course will focus on the following areas:
- Job Briefing Requirements
- Hazardous Energy Control (lockout/tagout)
- Switching & Clearance Procedures
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Flame Resistant (FR) Clothing
- Rubber Protective Equipment
- Live-Line Tools & Testing Requirements
- Working On or Near Exposed Lines
- De-energizing Lines and Equipment
- Personal Protective Grounding
- Substation Safety
- Canadian Electrical Code sections on Grounding (section 10) and High Voltage Work (section 36)
- Capacitors, Current Transformers, Potential Transformer Hazards
- Fuse/Relay Coordination
- One line familiarization and Planning for Lockout.
Required Items:
- Safety Boots
- Safety Glasses
- Long Sleeve Shirt
- Pen and Paper
- Member must wear proper work clothes to attend course. Member must attend both days in order to get certification.
