The Western Joint Electrical Training Society was established in 1969 to:
- To assist, develop and foster the education and advanced training of Red Seal Electricians in the construction industry.
- To assist, develop and foster the apprenticeship system in the electrical industry.
The Western JETS is a partnership between the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local Unions 230, 993, 1003 and the CLR Electrical Division.
The Western JETS is responsible for the training of the electrical specialists employed by all signatory contractors of IBEW Local Unions 230, 993, 1003, which cover Vancouver Island, Northern BC and Yukon and the Kootenays.
We believe that through continuing education, our members and contractors will achieve the highest levels of quality, skill, value and integrity in the electrical industry in British Columbia.
In recognition of the trails blazed by our members’ outstanding apprentices, the annual Western JETS Leadership Award aims to support and develop the next generation of leaders in the electrical industry. Applications are due annually on July 31st
