IBEW Local 993 Hall (Kamloops)

The two-day Level “A” BCACS training program consists of a theory and practical mix.

There are three (3) basic sections:

  1. Hand Signals
  2. Load Chart and Rigging examination
  3. Operation of the crane with and without a load
  4. Operate crane through nine (9) targets with no load (must achieve 7 of 9)
  5. Operate crane through nine (9) targets with a load (must achieve 7 of 9)
  6. Shut-down procedures.

The diagram below is the practical layout:

This practical is timed – 15 minutes to land on nine (9) targets empty and 15 minutes to land on nine (9) targets with a load. The operator must use at least 70% of boom length.

The time frame and layout of the course Chris will depend on the competencies of the participants.


Location: IBEW Local 993 Hall

The IBEW Local 993 Hall has a large fenced yard around the back of the building.
